시인은
기다리고,
기다리고,
또 기다린다,
말이 침묵이 되기까지,
침묵이 한 송이 연꽃으로 피어나기까지.

기다림은 끝이 없다.
생명을 지나 자연에 이르러
만공(滿空)의 우주 에우기까지

시는
기다림과 기다림 사이의 균열을 태우며
순간에 영원히 살아 머무는
번개의 미학이다.

The Aesthetics of Poetry

A poet
is waiting,
an' waiting,
and waiting,
until speech becomes silence,
until silence blooms to a lotus flower.

Waiting never stops,
until he has passed through life to nature,
until he has surrounded the whole space of the universe.

 

A poem
is the aesthetics of lightning,
burning the crack between one waiting and another,
staying alive at an eternal moment.
